History

In January 2008, a group of five Hispanic childcare providers who ran their own home-based businesses, known as “Family Child Care,” saw the need to form an association that would guide, assist, and provide professional support to childcare providers, families, and the early education community. Our association grew, and on July 21, 2014, we successfully obtained the 501C3 status, giving the group of associated providers the name: “Association of Child Care Professionals” (ACCP).

One of the significant barriers to performing this work was the language, as the rules, regulations, professional training, and communication with families were in a language other than Spanish. This prevented them from advancing professionally and fully understanding the requirements of the State of Georgia. Due to the need for professional training in Spanish, today we can find extensive information and training for our profession.

The association continues to grow month by month with active members, including providers, teachers, nannies, and parents, who participate in the activities we celebrate throughout the year, such as Children’s Day, Provider’s Day, the Christmas party, etc.

The association started with eight members who are still part of the group today.

We will continue to work on maintaining the quality of training, collaborating with new members, but above all, advocating for children’s rights.

VISION

The Association of Child Care Professionals (ACCP) envisions high-quality early childhood education as the central foundation of society, where childcare educators are valued for their honesty and professionalism, fostering a sense of identity in children, families, and educators.

MISION

To build solid foundations in the training and development of childcare educators who love, respect, and are committed to professional growth in the care of children in the state of Georgia, so that they may become successful individuals in the future.
To work together with the members of the Association of Child Care Professionals (ACCP), families, organizations responsible for child welfare, and the community to achieve comprehensive development for each child.
